We source our raw materials locally to keep our lead times short. We typically have a 3 week lead time on most jobs, but longer if the tools need to have a coating applied. We also offer expedited jobs.

What is Diamond Tooling?

Diamond is one of the hardest materials on earth. Diamond has high strength and good wear resistance.

Most of our tools utilize Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD). PCD is used for cutting materials such as:

  • aluminium
  • ceramics
  • plastic composites
  • other non-ferrous metals

There are many ways to apply diamonds to tools.

Inserts are tipped by cutting diamonds to size and brazing the diamond to the carbide insert.

Diamond Coating is typically applied to tools using either a resin bond or electroplate method to fuse the coating to the tool.



Why Diamond Tooling?

High grinding efficiency, Low grinding force: Less heat will be generated in the grinding process. This can decrease or avoid burns and cracks on the surface of the tool, and decrease the equipment's wear and energy consumption.

High wear resistance: Diamond tooling change in dimension is small. This can lead to good quality and high precision.

Long lifespan: Diamond lasts longer than other tool materials. This increases productivity by reducing the need for frequent tool changes and machine down time.
